In conclusion, the Harlem Renaissance not only celebrated the achievements of African Americans but the grim reality of being Black in a segregated America was exposed to the world as well. Although the support for these talented artists was short lived, the Harlem Renaissance did set the path for future writers like Nobel Peace Prize winner Toni Morrison, Academy Award winner Sidney Poitier, and 9 time Grammy winner Wynton Marsalis.
