Who was William Bradford? Most historians would agree he was one of the most important leaders in early Colonial America. Additionally, his writings have survived and now provide us with a glimpse into daily life in the Colonies. Certainly, Colonial Americans' lives were anything but peaceful, as Bradford has described in his journal, "Of Plymouth Plantation." In this lesson, you will read Bradford's account of Pirate Thomas Cromwell and his crew as they anchored off the coast of Plymouth.
