Sermon: a speech on conduct or duty.

Welcome to the Colonies! It is time for a revival. Jonathan Edwards, as the pastor of Northampton, Massachusetts, brought his parishioners into a state of revival through his sermons. These sermons emphasized the need for a "new birth" and strict following of scriptures. His most famous Sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," inspired other pastors and revivals throughout the Colonies.
