Geometry Glossary - L

Lateral surface:
the polygons (for prisms and pyramids) or smooth surfaces (for cylinders and cones) which connect the bases (for prisms and pyramids) or join the bases to the tip (for cylinders and cones)
 
 
Legs (of an isosceles triangle):
the sides of the triangle that are congruent

Legs (of a right triangle):
the two sides of a right triangle that form the right angle

Line (Undefined Term ):
can be described as a one-dimensional "stream" of points which has no width or depth, and can be named using a lower case script letter

Linear pair:
two adjacent angles, the non-common sides of which form opposite rays
