Constructions:
Go to the Geometry Construction Reference website for step by step directions on how to create several other constructions. Work through constructions 3, 4, 5 and 6 using your handheld compass and a straightedge. Put these in your Geometry notebook. You will be asked about these constructions at a later time, so it is important that you spend time completing each one.
For fun: Learn how to make a daisy with your compass. This Discovering Geometry website uses JavaSketch to create interactive illustrations of constructions. If this is your first time you have encountered a JavaSketch, it make take a few minutes to load. Please be patient. You will need to read all the directions on the Daisy Designs page. Try to recreate the work you see in the interactivity on your own paper with your own compass.
Hint: You will want to draw your circles lightly because, later, you will want to erase some parts of your design to better see the daisy.
